SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Daley, Team England: (on the emergency landing in Siberia of his and other British divers' flight from Shanghai to London last week)

"Well, no, it hasn't affected any of the preparations. I mean, we always have "what if?" scenarios, and you never prepare yourself for an emergency landing but you have the "what if your flight's delayed?", and that's kind of what you have to treat it as. I mean, it was scary, but we landed safely, got home safely and now we're in Scotland and ready to compete at the Commonwealth Games."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Daley, Team England: (comparison to Delhi 2010)

"Well, it's going to be two very different Games. To compare India to Scotland, they're two very different countries, they're going to hold two very different Games. But I am really looking forward to getting out there and trying to retain my title, and it's kind of exciting to kind of get the atmosphere back from the (London) Olympics, and kind of get a multi-sport event coming back, and it's exciting."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Tom Daley, Team England: (on whether the Commonwealth Games is really the "friendly Games")

"Well, the morale in the (athletes) village, we've only been there an hour but everyone's really happy, everyone's buzzing, everyone's really excited to compete. When you get into competition, you're in competition, and you want to win, so there's always that competitive drive there, but around the village it's fun, it's a great multi-sport atmosphere."
