San Lorenzo beat Bolivar 5-0 in the Copa Libertadores semi-final first leg on Wednesday (23rd July).

    Script:

San Lorenzo all but confirmed their place in the final of the Copa Libertadores following a resounding 5-0 win over Bolivar in the semi-final first leg.

The hosts opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute when Mauro Matos headed in from Leandro Romagnoli's set piece.

Bolivar goalkeeper Romel Quinonez was certainly to blame leaving the goal wide open for the first goal.

He repeated his mistake on San Lorenzo's second.

Emanuel Mas doubling the hosts' advantage shortly before the half hour mark with another header into a largely empty net, Romagnoli again the provider from another set piece.

Two goals in the space of four second-half minutes compounded the visitors' misery.

Juan Mercier started and finished a move in the 70th minute, taking advantage of some woeful defending in the process to make it 3-0.

This, before Julio Buffarini unleashed a spectacular strike in the 74th to make it 4-0.

Mas headed in the fifth three minutes from time, effectively putting the tie to bed after the first 90 minutes.
