  • Intro:

Australian netball captain Laura Geitz said cyclist and opening ceremony flag bearer Anna Meares is the "perfect role model for Australia", while chef de mission Steve Moneghetti believes there is less pressure on the swimming team at the Games.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Moneghetti, Australian chef de mission: (On if Australia will top the medal tally once again)

"The last time that we didn't top the medal tally was here in Scotland in 1986, we'd love to top the medal tally, but we just want to make sure people have a good experience and have a fair and even playing field. If we can set up the environment that the athletes get every opportunity to perform at their best then the results will be what they will be and medals will take care of themselves."
