Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni commented on India's 95-run victory against England in the second Test at Lord's on Monday (21 July) which gave them a 1-0 lead in the series.

"I think it's the result of hard effort, you know what's important is that you won't always get the result in your favour, but I felt in the last couple of series outside India, we were in a position to seal one game each, you know victory or one game each at both the places, but some of you are not able to do that. I felt the bowlers put in a very good effort in both the Test matches that I am talking about but didn't go in our favour, but what was important was to keep working hard keep, keep putting in the same kind of preparation and thinking into the game. I think because of that today we have sealed the first game, you can say, for this team and it was just fantastic to see the effort and determination the guys showed. So overall, a very memorable game of cricket for us."

"It's definitely a memorable Test match, we have had close Test matches before here. I still remember the 2007 Test series that we won. It was because of bad light that the game ended in a draw. Me and (Shanthakumaran) Sreesanth were batting at that point in time. Because of that Test, we saved that Test and ended up being victorious in that Test series, so I feel every game is important. Yes, it feels good to win Test matches outside India and being Lord's it is very special, but at the same time I feel every Test match is special to us."
