Pohang Steelers beat Busan IPark 2-0 on Sunday (July 20) in a K League Classic fixture.

In the 16th round of the K League Classic season, Pohang Steelers played host to Busan on Sunday at the Pohang Steel Yard Stadium.

This was the sides' second head-to-head clash of the year Busan winning 3-1 on the first occasion.

The visitors almost broke the deadlock a couple of minutes after the half-time interval but Brazilian striker Fagner's shot hit the frame of the goal.

And it was the home side that took the lead in the 59th minute when Kang Su-II found the net with a low, left-footed shot.

Busan suffered another setback with 18 minutes left when defender Kwon Jin-Young brought down Pohang forward Ko Mu-Yeol in the penalty area.

Midfielder Shin Kwang-Hoon tucked away the spot kick - and the hosts held out for the 2-0 win.

With the victory, Pohang maintained top position in the league table with 33 points.

Busan remained in 10th place heading into round 17.
