Laura Diaz shot second round of two-under 69 to take a three-stroke lead over Lydia Ko and Lee-Anne Pace at the Marathon Classic.

The second round of The LPGA Marathon Classic at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Ohio.

Lydia Ko, the world number 2 was out early and leapt up the leaderboard with her second straight round of 67. The 17-year-old birdied the fifth to go eight under and give her a share of second place going into the weekend.

She is tied with Lee-Anne Pace who closed out her second round of 68 with back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18. The South African will be hoping to beat her top result of 29th this year.

Laura Diaz was the overnight leader after her opening round of 62.

She struggled over the front nine dropping a shot. But birdied three of her final four holes to card a 69. At 11-under, she has a three-stroke lead over Ko and Pace.

Haru Nomura's day took a turn for the better on the 14th. She aced it winning a car in the process. Nomura shot 70 to go three under for the tournament. But her attention seemed to be on the new set of wheels she now owns.
