Day three of Red Bull Romaniacs 2014 saw more pulsating racing between the leading competitors.

Script:

The third day of Romaniacs 2014 was another day of tight racing through beautiful, wild and dangerous countryside.

In the Gold race class, British rider Jonny Walker started the day just 44 seconds behind compatriot Graham Jarvis.

Following his win on day two, Jarvis was the first through the starting gate and onto the course that had seen only light rain overnight.

Walker started second, five minutes after Jarvis.

Both riders battled for supremacy throughout almost the entire length of the 160-kilometre race, which went up hill, followed woodland paths, went through rivers and along streams.

Jarvis was the first to take the chequered flag on the rooftop of the old coal mine at Petrila.

Walker finished second and takes an overall lead of just under five minutes, whilst South African Wade Young finished third.
