Par save 'crazy' - Mickelson

Player reactions from the second round of the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, England, on Friday.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Phil Mickelson, Level-par (on his birdie at the 18th hole):

"It was a crazy par save, wasn't it? You know, I played really well today, but those couple of loose shots, the drive on ten, the miss putt on seven ended up costing me another one on eight and I ended up giving four, five shots away, but I played really well, shot two-under and there was like a mental barrier to get it back to even-par, so that putt on 18 was big."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Adam Scott, Three-under-par:

"Yes, I'm happy with that. It could have been better today. I played really well and I just…. didn't take advantage of my good shots today and compounded that with some errors from the middle of the fairway and…. the tee on number 13, which is kind of…. a huge mistake when you are in good, when you're in good shape. It's one thing if you're in trouble to make a bogey, but when you're in the middle of the fairway you don't want to be making bogey and had a couple of them on the back nine, which kind of…. I hit the skids and had to scramble coming in."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Justin Rose, Two-under-par:

"There's always a tipping point on a links course. I think ten- to 15 mile-an-hour breeze, it's sort of fun to play and if it gets just over 15, if it gets towards 20 mile-an-hour, which I would imagine it did today, that's when it suddenly gets quite extreme and quite difficult. The ball starts oscillating and very tough to keep your balance while you are putting and holing out. So, it got to that point today for sure, especially on the back nine for a sort of an hour or so. I felt like we were just hanging on."
