Players must accept weather conditions and adapt - Dawson

The R&A (Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews) held a news conference at Royal Liverpool Golf Club on Wednesday - the eve of the 2014 Open Championship's first round.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Peter Dawson, Chief Executive of the R&A (on the weather expected for the Open Championship):

"I don't think in this week in July that we have seen massive changes in weather compared to before. What we want is good links, breezy sunny conditions - that's what we would like to see. We know we won't get that everyday. We know we won't get that every day but we hope we will get some of it. And I think our mindset is just to accept any weather we get. And players just have to adapt to it. What we probably don't want is the same thing everyday of the four days."
