The quarter finals of the Mercedes Open in Stuttgart.

And top seed Fabio Fognini booked his place in the final four, beating Santiago Giraldo.

In a tight opening set, with Fognini securing the vital break. And he followed that up with 6-3 second set win.

He will play Roberto Bautista Agut, the third seed.

Mikhail Youzhny had a tough opening set against Federico Delbonis.

But after winning that on a tiebreak he found the second set much easier, winning 6-2 to book his semi final spot.

Where he will play Lukas Rosol after he beat Feliciano Lopez of Spain.

Lopez made a strong start and took the opening set 6-4 and he look get the crowd on his side as the deciding set went into a tiebreak

But when this forehand went long on match point Rosol completed one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far.
