SOUNDBITE (English) Stacy Lewis, 2013 Open winner:
(On how her round went).
"The first round it was good. I wouldn't say it was a great round, but it was a solid round. I didn't hit the ball as well as I would of liked. Got the ball in the hole and made some pars. When I got in trouble I gout out and didn't compound any mistakes and just a very solid day."
SOUNDBITE (English) Stacy Lewis, 2013 Open winner:
(On how she's position moving forward).
"We've got a long ways to go. We've got a lot, a lot of golf to play. I like where I am. Anything under par is a good score on this golf course and I think I'm in a good spot."
SOUNDBITE (English) Michelle Wie, 2014 US Open winner:
(On her first round of three-over).
"It was a battle out there. I played well, I just wasn't so well off the tee and put myself in some really hard positions. I'm proud of myself, I really hung in there. I just didn't give up until the end. I scrambled pretty good today. A lot of putts I felt like could of dropped in. It was definitely a battle out there this morning."
SOUNDBITE (English) Michelle Wie, 2014 US Open winner:
(On her chances after a tough first round).
"You just never know what happens out here. There's still three more days out here, there's a lot of golf to be played in the afternoon. There's some low scores posted this morning. I just need to keep trying to make pars, give me a couple more birdies and see what I can do."
