  • Intro:

Seventeen year-old Lydia Ko, the youngest player at this year's Women's British Open, reflected on going professional at such a young age.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Lydia Ko, 17-year-old golfer (On making the transition to being a professional golfer after playing as an amateur last year):

"Just being away from New Zealand and even if I have an off week I'm going off to Orlando where I see a lot of golfers where I don't know that many people outside (of golf). I definitely miss New Zealand and that was one of the hard things. My parents are over here so it's been OK. I've been enjoying it and I wouldn't say it was hard to make that kind of transition."

SOUNDBITE (English) Lydia Ko, 17-year-old golfer (On going pro at such a young age):

"It's really good for me that I'm not the first one (to go pro so young). There's been other players like Michelle (Wie) and Lexi (Thompson) so in that I was I'm very lucky. I'm very fortunate to be playing on the tour as a 17-year-old. I don't feel too young after meeting Lucy (Li) at the US Open. She was six years younger than me. She made me feel old."
