Australias latest tennis sucess story Nick Kyrgios arrived back in his hometown of Canberra on Sunday morning to crowd of delighted supporters and a media scrum.

The 19 year old attracted huge attention when beating world number one Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon to make it through to the last 8

    Nick Kyrgios (SOUNDBITE):

"I was very disappointed that I lost in the quarter-finals. Obviously I didn't have that day off between the matches but you know I thought I did my best, I gave it everything and I came up short. Hopefully next time I can go that little bit further."

Receiving far more attention on arrival than he did departing Australia,....he's back home to train for the next major event on the calender ... the U.S. Open ...but says he says he still has a long way to go

"I wouldn't say I'm Australia's leading man. We've still got Leyton Hewitt he's one of the greatest of all time and you know I'm learning everyday from him in Davis Cup and all that so you know I'm just still following his footsteps."

The quest now for Kyrgios is to show that his victory over Nadal was not a flash in the pan, starting in New York at the end of August
