Sebastien Ogier in his VW Polo wins the WRC Rally of Poland on Sunday (29th June) to take his fifth win of the season and exert his dominance on the 2014 championship.
Script:
Reigning World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier won the Rally of Poland on Sunday, beating team- mate Andreas Mikkelsen by one minute, seven point seven seconds. The Frenchman in his Volkswagen Polo led the way for 18 of the 22 stages in Poland.
Thierry Neuville finished in third position, giving Hyundai its second podium finish of the season.
The win was Ogier's fifth win of the season, out of seven rallies, and was the 21st of his career. He dominated the rally from start to finish and he held a comfortable lead going into the final day's action.
With the win, Ogier extended his lead at the top the world championship standings. He is now on 166 points with Jari-Matti Latvala in second place with 116 points; he finished fifth in Poland.
Latvala's suspension was damaged by a stray stone on Saturday's 14th special stage ruling him out of contention.
Ogier also took maximum points, finishing the event with the Power Stage victory.
