Round ten of the FIM Motocross World Championships took place in Maggiora, Italy on Sunday with local favourite Toni Cairoli making the most of his "home" advantage, winning both races in style.

In race one, he made a superb start and led from the outset.

Early on, Clement Desalle passed Jeremy Van Horebeek to move into second place.

But Desalle crashed out, and although he managed to remount his bike and carry on he could only manage 7th place.

Van Horebeek successfully held off a challenge from Steven Frossard to clinch second place, with Frossard doing enough to finish third.

In the second race, Cairoli produced another strong start, this time with David Philippaerts his closest rival.

Philippaerts gradually lost momentum as the race wore on and could only finish in a disappointing fifth.

Van Horebeek took second place again, a memorable result for him, while Kevin Strijbos took third.

Defending five time champion Cairoli moves on to 443 points in the overall championship, Desalle has 405 in second and by only three points van Horebeek is third with 402.
