Wins for Maris Strombergs and Caroline Buchanan in Berlin
Script:
The third round of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup took place in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday (14th June).
Current UCI World Champion Caroline Buchanan of Australia produced a superb late burst to win the women's race.
2012 Olympic Gold Medallist Mariana Pajon led for much of the race.
Yet Buchanan was always in sight and took her opportunity with a fantastic finish for her second win of the season.
Pajon finished second, with the result ensuring that Buchanan is top overall.
In the men's race, the winner was far more clear cut.
Maris Strombergs, in his first race back on the track, powered to victory and even had time for a look over his shoulder on the line.
Twan van Gendt of the Netherlands took second place while Joris Daudet of France completing the podium.
The next UCI BMX Supercross World Cup round will take place in Argentina in September.
