With Wimbledon fast approaching, Roger Federer prepared by taking on Alejandro Falla at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany on Sunday.
Falla lost the two sets via unforced errors, hitting the net on both occasions.
However, Federer out-thought Falla in many instances, forcing him into corners before delivering the winner allowing Federer to win the match 7-6, 7-6
The victory is Federer's seventh in Halle, where he made his debut 14 years ago.
His record at the tournament now stands at 46-5 in 12 appearances.
Following the match, Federer said he often did well at Wimbledon when he had previously done so at Halle.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Roger Federer, Gerry Weber Open winner:
"Yeah, I mean, in the past, when I've played well in Halle usually I played very well in Wimbledon as well. I mean it's been two of my most successful tournaments in my career, Halle and Wimbledon, so I hope that this is going to bring me luck again. Last year it didn't work out, but (it has) many times before, so I hope it's going to be back to the good old days."
