India beat South Korea in the Hockey World Cup

    India beat South Korea 3-0 in men's FIH Hockey World Cup on Saturday (14th June).

    Script:

    India sealed a comfortable 3-0 win over South Korea in the 9/10th classification.

    Akashdeep Singh opened the scoring for India in the sixth minute.

    SV Sunil's pace saw him race away from his marker before squaring the ball for Singh to net.

    India were awarded a penalty in the 43rd minute after Rupinder Singh's initial attempt struck the arm of a South Korean on the goalline.

    The defender converted to double the lead.

    Akashdeep Singh added a third soon after in the 50th minute.

    Hyunwoo Nam was denied a mere consolation on the hour mark as India held out for the 3-0 victory.
