Stage seven of the Tour de Singkarak started along the Silokek river in Indonesia on Friday.

The course may be relatively flat but the 167.5 kilometres route makes it one of the longest stages.

Filipino rider Cris Joven of Team T7E attacked and built up an early lead.

Amir Zargari in the yellow jersey and other Team PKY riders were among the peleton in hot pursuit.

As the second sprint section soon arrived, Joven and Iraninan Arvin Moazemi competed hard for the green jersey, with Joven looking good to regain it.

With just over 10 kilometres left, Zargari of Iran suffered a mechanical problem and dropped back.

Australian rider Brenton Jones of Team ART took advantage of a crash in the peleton and crossed the finishing line in 4 hours 0.02 seconds.

Despite his struggles Zargari held on to the yellow jersey, Cris Joven won the green jersey for the sprint, whilst it remains the polka-dot shirt for Ramin Mehrbaniazar of Team PKY.
