Britain's Adam Gemili pipped in Oslo 100m's

    The fifth leg of the 2014 Diamond League athletics series took place at Bislett, Oslo on Wednesday (11 June).

    Script:

    Having held the first international athletics meeting in 1924, the Bislett track in Oslo had a special guest to open the fifth round of the Diamond League.

    The famous track at Bislett hosted not only the fifth round of the Diamond League, but also guest of honour Carl Lewis, and 9 time Olympic Champion Carl Lewis.

    In the men's 400 metres hurdles, Olympic decathlon champion Ashton Eaton won with ease in a time of 49.16 seconds.

    In the women's 400 metres hurdles Jamaica's Kaliese Spencer won, beating Brunei's Kemi Adekoya with a dip at the line.

    It was Spencer's third successive win in Diamond League and she leads the standings with 14 points.

    In the women's long jump, Tianna Bartoletta won with a jump of 7.02 metres - a world best performance for the year so far.

    Shara Proctor of Great Britain finished second with a jump of 6.78 metres.

    American, Allyson Felix reaffirmed she is getting back to her best by winning the 200 metres.

    Felix, the Olympic and triple world champion, won in 22.73 seconds, ahead of Jodie Williams of Great Britain.

    The men's 100 metres was won by Richard Thompson of Trinidad in a time of 10.02.

    With GB's Adam Gemili in third with a time of 10.11 seconds.

    The Diamond League continues on Monday with New York hosting round 6.
