After a weekend of mountain bike action, Australian duo Troy Brosnan and Samuel Hill claimed the top two spots in the men's downhill event at the third round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William, Scotland.

The winner of the 2011 World Cup, Danny Hart, had to settle for third, with the USA's Arron Gwin finishing fourth.

Brosnan claimed his first victory at a World Cup event, although the win wasn't enough to overhaul Gwin in the individual standings.

Great Britain's Manon Carpenter also maintained her lead at the top of the women's standings despite a hugely disappointing finish in fifteenth place.

Emmeline Ragot and Myriam Nicole of France maintained the pressure on Carpenter at the top of the leaderboard by finishing first and second respectively, with Ragot now
only five points behind the Briton and Nicole trailing by another 28.

Next stop for the UCI World Cup is Austria.
