Intro:
Colton Satterfield landed his first X Games BMX Big Air title in Austin, Texas, on Saturday.
Script:
Austin, Texas, was the stage for the X Games BMX Big Air on Saturday. The event very nearly didn't happen at all because of high winds but the riders insisted the show must go on.
One man thankful for this decision was James Foster, who won bronze with a backflip tailwhip over the gap to triple downside whip on the quarterpipe; the first time he's landed the trick.
The defending X Games Los Angeles Big Air champion, Morgan Wade, landed a Superman backflip over the gap and a double tailwhip. The 30-year-old wore the Texas flag on his back but he wasn't quite the lone star at the top of the standings.
Wade was pipped to the gold medal by Colton Satterfield, who landed his maiden X Games Big Air title after landing a no-handed corked 720 over the gap to triple tailwhip on the quarterpipe, to record a score of 90.66.
In sweltering temperatures and blustery conditions, it was Satterfield who swept to victory in the Deep South.
