SOUNDBITE: (English) Andy Murray, defending champion (Q: How did you decide to appoint Amelie Mauresmo as your new coach?)

"I went through a similar sort of process to how I've normally done it (decided on a coach). I spoke to her a few times on the phone and when I was in Paris, I met her before the tournament and chatted a little bit about it, whether she would be up for doing it. And yes, there was a will from both sides to give it a go and see how it works out and we'll try obviously during the grass court period and hopefully we both enjoy it and it will work well."

(Q: What do you expect her to bring to your game?)

"Well, she's a fantastic player herself. She won Wimbledon, she was world number one, she won the Australian Open. And then just from speaking to her, she's very calm, she's a good person and I think we'll communicate well together and I think that's a very important part of coaching and I hope it works well."
