    Script:

Malaysia and India faced each other in the Hockey World Cup in the Netherlands, each knowing that a win would be their first of the tournament.

India had drawn one and lost two of their first three games, while Malaysia had lost all three, with the two teams fifth and sixth respectively in Group A going into the game.

Jasjit Singh Kumar put India ahead 15 minutes in when he converted from a penalty corner, and the score would remain 1-0 until half-time.

Razle Rahim equalised 10 minutes into the second half, also from a penalty corner, but then Akashdeep Singh scored twice in quick succession to give India a lead they wouldn't surrender.

Marhan Jalil added a second goal for Malaysia with nine minutes left but it was not to be.

His side condemned to their fourth defeat of the Men's Field Hockey World Cup in Group A.
