    Jamie Bestwick won his ninth consecutive BMX Vert gold medal and 20 year-old Jimmy wilkins won his first in the Skateboard Vert final at the X-Games in Austin, Texas on Thursday (5th June).

    Jamie Bestwick won his ninth consecutive BMX Gold medal at the X-Games in Austin, Texas on Thursday.

    Bestwick's routine included a 'front flip flair', an 'alley-oop tailwhip turndown' and a '540 one-foot seatgrab combo' clocking a score of 92.66.

    In the Skateboarding event 20 year-old Jimmie Wilkins won his first gold medal, in only his second appearance at an X-Games.

    Wilkins pulled out an 'Ollie 540' on his third and final run to come from behind to overhaul Brazil's Sandro Dias.

    Dias took the silver medal, with Mitchie Brusco picking up the bronze. The X-Games competition continues on Friday at Austin's Circuit of the Americas
