Australia coach explains Moore captaincy

Tuesday, June 03 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Hooker Stephen Moore was named as the new captain of Australia's Wallabies on Monday (June 2nd).

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English): Ewen McKenzie, Australia coach:

"It became quite clear to me, working with these guys over a long period of time, that Steve would make an excellent choice, as the captain, managing the player side of things and his lieutenants in Adam (Ashley-Cooper) and Michael (Hooper). Exactly.... different personalities across the group, which is exactly what I want. We want diversity, but in the end we want performance. Performance is king at the moment and (there are) a lot of opportunities for us going forward as a team and we want to be able to grab that."
