Composed Spurs beat Thunder - Duncan

Sunday, June 01 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Veteran power forward Tim Duncan -- who scored the last seven points for the San Antonio Spurs -- said playing under less pressure was key to the Spurs securing a thrilling 112-107 overtime victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. San Antonio will play Miami Heat in the NBA finals, a rematch of last year when the Heat won an enthralling series 4-3.

SOUNDBITE (English): Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs centre:

"You're in a closeout game so all the pressure is on the team that is being closed out but we didn't take it lightly. We're, we weren't playing free, we weren't relying on a seventh game - we wanted to finish it here. So we were playing with as much pressure as they were. There were ups and downs and backs and fourths, they went up 10, we went up 10 so the game went back and forth, I don't think anybody was playing with that much pressure on their shoulders, we just found enough plays to win down the stretch."
