Sunday, June 01 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

US golfer Phil Mickelson, 43, said the FBI's insider trading investigation will not be a distraction at the US Open, which gets under way on 12 June. The golfer, one of America's richest and most-admired sportsmen, insists he has done "absolutely nothing wrong" and said he was co-operating with the government inquiry. Mr Mickelson, investor Carl Icahn and William Walters -- a high-profile gambler -- are being investigated for possible illegal share sales, using information given by Mr Icahn.

SOUNDBITE (English) Phil Mickelson (On putting investigation behind him with U.S. Open coming up in two weeks)

"Yes I do, I think that as a player you have to be able to block out whatever's going on off the golf course and be able to focus on the golf course. And it's not going to change the way I carry myself. I've, honestly I've done nothing wrong. I'm not going to walk around any other way."
