    Script:

Group A of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup got underway in the Netherlands on Saturday.

Australia romped to a 4-0 thrashing of 13th-ranked Malaysia.

Eddie Ockenden dribbled past three defenders in the pick of the goals.

Also in action in Group A were India and Belgium.

Having been 1-0 down, India's Akashdeep Singh completed the comeback to make it 2-1.

But Belgium equalised through Simon Gougnard and the Red Dragons roared to a 3-2 victory courtesy of John-John Dohmen.

England and Spain played out a 1-1 draw in the final men's game on day one of the World Cup.

Alistair Brogdon put England in front. The 27-year-old dribbled the ball into the circle before slamming it past Spain's goalkeeper Quico Cortes.

Just two minutes into the second half, Spain's Eduard Tubau cancelled that strike out with a cheeky effort.

With the football World Cup less than a month away, Roy Hodgson's men would do well to take note.
