IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion Carl Froch and challenger George Groves had their weigh-in on Friday (30th May), ahead of their fight at Wembley Stadium the following night.

    Script:

After a surprisingly placid pre-fight press conference, the atmosphere of calm continued between Carl Froch and George Groves during their weigh in.

Challenger Groves weighed in at 11 stone 13lb, 4oz while Froch was a touch heavier at 11 stone, 13lb, 9oz.

Billed as one of the biggest fights in British boxing history, the second instalment of Carl Froch versus George Groves will take place at a sold out Wembley Stadium.

Eighty-thousand spectators will watch Saturday's fight, as an established champion faces a young pretender with a score to settle.

The 36-year-old Froch was knocked down in the first round by a man 11 years his junior last time around.

In the ninth round, Froch did land some meaningful punches of his own to leave Groves wobbling, but the challenger was still on his feet when the referee controversially stepped in to end the contest.

It was no surprise that the IBF ordered a rematch - after Groves made a complaint and the clamour for Froch-Groves round II has been almost irresistible.
