Tuesday, May 27 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Kei Nishikori (JAP) said he was just 'happy to finish the match' after crashing out of Roland Garros in the opening round at the hands of Martin Kližan, 24, (SVK) 6-7 (4-7) 1-6 2-6. The 24-year-old has been suffering with a back injury since he was forced to retire during the Madrid Open final against Rafael Nadal earlier this month.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Kei Nishikori lost to Martin Kližan 6-7 (4-7) 1-6 2-6 (Q. Looking back, do you regret that maybe it was too risky to come or it was nothing really to do with the injury today?):

"I don't know. I'm actually happy to finish the match. I was really disappointed that my performance was.... I mean, not very bad, but it wasn't perfect match for me today. And, I mean, I didn't have much practice. So, you know, I knew this is going to be happen."
