Script:
Day One of the 2014 Roland Garros and there were a number of the game's stars on show.
Milos Raonic opened up on Suzanne Lenglen with a risky looking match against rising Australian Nick Kyrgios.
But the Canadian had too much for the 19-year-old, finishing the straight sets victory in style.
Reigning Champion and World No 1, Serena Williams found it all too easy against the locals favourite Alize Lim, winning 6-2, 6-1.
Elsewhere in the women's, there were wins for third seed Agnieszka Radwanska and Angelique Kerber.
Back on the men's side and France's great hope - Jo Wilfired Tsonga - powered past compatriot Edouardo Roger-Vasselin. After a tight first set tiebreak, Tsonga won in straight sets.
Monday's action includes Novak Djokovic and the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal.
