Second seed Novak Djokovic beat eighth seed Milos Raonic of Canada 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 to reach the final of the Italian Open on Saturday (17 May).

    Script:

Two-time Champion Novak Djokovic met big serving Milos Raonic in the semi-finals of the Rome Masters.

The first set was tight between the two, and Raonic here at a break down on his serve kept his nerve to take the game and then the set to a tie break.

And the Canadian used one of his big serves to take the first set 7-5.

Much the same in the second set with the set going to a tiebreak. This time, Raonic made the error, giving Djokovic the set and the fans a decider.

The Serbian created an early break opportunity and took it when the World No 10 put this backhand long.

With the game continuing on serve after that, the World No 2 had his chance at 5-3 up.

Djokovic looked to be at his durable best, while Raonic was wilting.

The Serb took the match and sit back and watch the other semi-final between Rafa Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov on Saturday night.
