Grigor Dimitrov and Tomáš Berdych both enjoyed wins in the second round of the Rome Masters on Wednesday.

At 6' 11" Ivo Karlovic poses a formidable threat on serve but Dimitrov withstood the pressure to win this point with a phenomenal passing shot.

The Bulgarian then broke Karlovic's serve to win the tie-break and edge the first set.

Dimitrov showed the 35-year-old Croatian how it's done with an ace to win 7-6, 6-4.

The world number 14 will face Berdych in the last 16, after the Czech overcame Dmitry Tursunov of Russia.

The 28-year-old forced Tursunov wide before closing in and firing off this forehand winner to take the first set.

The second set was a similarly straightforward affair for this year's Rotterdam champion. A sliced backhand by Berdych -- whose mother is a train engineer -- won the second set and the match 6-4, 6-3. It's full steam ahead for the world number six as he heads into the third round.
