Intro:
Martin St. Louis, 38, dedicated the New York Rangers' 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Consol Energy Center on Friday evening to his late mother. The win means the Rangers reduce the deficit in the best-of-seven NHL (National Hockey League) Eastern Conference semi-final play-off series to 3-2, with the sixth encounter at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. The veteran right wing flew straight to Montreal from Pittsburgh on Thursday to be with his family following the unexpected death of his mother, France, at age 63 and returned to the Steel City on Friday afternoon.

SOUNDBITE (English): Martin St. Louis, New York Rangers right wing:
"You don't know how you're gonna feel, you know, until, you know you don't expect these things. It was, it was a tough couple of days for my family but, you know... I know deep down, my mother would, my mom would want me to play this game and... you know, she'd be proud of me coming here and helping as much as I can. And the boys have been so supportive, the support I've gotten [sic] from the New York Rangers, my team-mates and my friends and family, friends around the league, old friends, has been unbelievable. I'm glad that we were able to get this win and stay alive and... you know, she was a great lady, best human being I've ever known in my life and I owed it to her to do it, I know she would want me to do it so... It's been a tough day for everyone but we're going to keep pushing."
