  • Intro:

China completed a sweep of the World Team Table Tennis Championship titles in Tokyo, Japan on Monday (May 5th).

    Script:

In the women's final between Japan and China, Ning Ding disposed of her Japanese counterpart in four games.

World No 3, Xiaoxia Li needed just three games to get past Kasumi Ishikawa. 2-0 to the Chinese and it was looking ominous for the hosts.

It was left to Japan's lowest ranked player - Sayaka Hirano - to try and salvage the match.

However, Liu Shiwen made light work of the World No 25 and won in three games.

The Chinese women, like the men, win their 19th championship title in their ever present appearance at the final since 1963.
