Floyd Mayweather Jr. has agreed to a rematch with Marcos Maidana.

The American triumphed over the Argentinian in their WBC-WBA Super World welterweight title fight in Las Vegas, but they have agreed to a rematch.

    Script:

Q: Earlier in the week there was talk about retirement, then in the ring there was talk of a rematch - will we see you back in September?

SOUNDBITE (English): Floyd Mayweather, WBC and WBA Welterweight Champion:

"Of course. I'll be back September to fight again. Hopefully the fans, you know, tune in again, come back out. It may be the same guy again, I don't know."

Q: You don't usually give rematches, just one in your career, why did he earn a rematch tonight?

"This guy came to fight. You know, I coulda just stayed on the outside really outboxed this guy and kept him at bay and outboxed him and counterpunched but I told the fans I was gonna give them, I was going to give everybody excitement tonight because everybody is not used to seeing me in a competitive fight, you know? They used to seeing me just beat guys, blow guys out and keep my distance where as today I kind of fought toe to toe, I stayed right there and i didn't do too much moving."
