    Argentinean Carlos Berlocq defeated Daniel Gimeno-Traver 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 on Saturday (3rd May) to set up a Portugal Open final with Tomas Berdych.

    Argentine Carlos Berlocq coming off the back of his quarter-final upset of second seed Milos Raonic looked to be overwhelming favourite against Spanish qualifier Daniel Gimeno-Traver at the Portugal Open on Saturday.

    And when the Spaniard put this forehand long, the Argentine had an early break.

    Yet, the World No 62 returned the favour in the very next game when he put this forehand long to hand his break back.

    The set went on serve forcing a first set tie-break was won by the Argentine followed an unforced error by Gimeno-Traver at the net.

    Berlocq then stepped up his game in the second set, playing the more aggressive tennis and breaking his opponent to take the advantage once again.

    And where Gimeno-Traver failed at the net, Berlocq made no mistake to take the match with a to-love game.

    The Argentine setting up a final against top-seeded Tomas Berdych, who eased past Victor Hancescu 6-2, 6-2 earlier in the day.
