Second-seed Eugenie Bouchard came through her first round match of the WTA Portugal Open following a straight-sets win over former world no. 20 Alisa Kleybanova on Tuesday.

In their only previous meeting, Bouchard beat Kleybanova 6-3, 6-1 in Toronto in 2013.

And it was much the same on this occasion, with the Canadian seeing off her Russian counterpart 6-4, 6-1.

Kleybanova reached the quarter-finals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart last week, beating Ajla Tomjlanovic and world number six Petra

Kvitova en route to the last eight.However, she was unable to replicate that sort of form against Bouchard, who eased into the second round.
