Wimbledon organisers warned they will be on the look-out for players who turn up to the 2014 championships with injuries looking to receive a first round pay cheque - however, The All England Club also announced on Tuesday (29th April) that there would be an increase in Wimbledon prize money, designed to assist those who struggle in the bottom tiers of the sport.

SOUNDBITE (English) Philip Brook, chairman of The All England Lawn Tennis Club (on the prize money increase):

"This year we've increased our prize money by 10.8%, overall prize money pot of £25 million. As we did with 2012 and 2013 we focused most of our prize money increase at the players who we believe need it most. These are players who are on that long journey trying to find their way in the professional game. Knowing that it is a long road and an expensive road which to travel. It is for that group of players, players whop will lose in qualifying, lose in the early rounds of Wimbledon, where we've put most of the increase."
