Dnipro maintain Ukraine title challenge

  • Intro:

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk won 2-0 at Hoverla Uzhhorod on Thursday (24th April), closing the gap on the Ukrainian Premier League leaders Shakhtar Donetsk to three points.

    Script:

Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk were aiming to keep their Ukranian title hopes alive when they travelled to Hoverla Uzhhorod.

Hoverla wanted to derail their visitors challenge and they came close too but Maksim Feshchuk was offside when he found the net early on.

Hoverla continued to push for the opener in the second half.

    Feschuk should have done better.

Dnipro's task was made harder when Sergey Kravchenko said something the referee didn't agree with.

But Juande Ramos' side need not have worried as Oleksiy Shevchenko was in goal for Hoverla.

Evgini Konoplyanka definitely wouldn't have been able to claim that that was intentional.

Shevchenko was at it again in injury time as he gifted Giuliano an easy opportunity to move Dnipro within three points of league leaders Shakhtar Donetsk with a game in hand.

Dnipro have never finished higher than third in the top flight of Ukrainian football - Ramos's men seem sure to better that record.
