  • Intro:

Esteghlal rounded off their AFC Champions League campaign on Wednesday (April 23) with a 3-1 win over Al Rayyan in the bottom-of-the-table clash in Group A.

    Script:

Neither Esteghlal nor Al Rayyan could progress from AFC Champions League Group A but there were still some strong tackles.

Saleh Al Zuwaidy's led to a penalty.

Which was taken in horrendous fashion by Arash Borhani.

Goalless at the break, the game exploded into life after the interval.

Boubacar Kebe gave Iran's Esteghlal the lead in the 54th minute.

It was 2-0 five minutes later thanks to some dire goalkeeping and defending, as well as Borhani's precise finish.

Kebe scored his second goal in the 73rd minute.

Before Fahad al Bloushi salvaged some pride for the Qatari visitors late on in this bottom of the group dead rubber clash.
