Dnipro missed the chance to move level on points with Shakhtar Donetsk at the top of the Ukrainian Premier League following a 1-0 defeat away to Chornomorets on Sunday (20 April).

    Script:

Chornomorets hosted Dnipro in the Ukrainian Premier League on Sunday.

While visitors Dnipro were looking to extend their run of six consecutive victories in the league, the home side had lost their last two domestic outings.

Forward Tornike Okriashvili gave Chornomorets the lead in the 34th minute.

The 22-year-old slotted home from close range following Leo Matos' right-wing cross.

Dnipro were denied an equaliser shortly before half time when the referee disallowing Evhen Seleznyov's strike after the visitors played on with Chornomorets defender Pavel Rebenok seemingly injured.

Seleznyov then spurned a chance to equalise, shooting high over the bar in the 53rd minute.

Scorer Okriashvili could have doubled Chornomorets' lead in the 75th minute when he raced through on goal, but his left-footed shot cannoned back of the post.

Defeat left Dnipro in second place on 50 points, three adrift of leaders Shakhtar Donetsk while Chornomorets remain in fifth place on 39 points.
