Toyota Racing driver Kazuki Nakajima said his team are fortunate to be starting the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship on pole position, after qualifying at the head of the field by just 0.005 seconds on Saturday. The six-hour race begins at Silverstone, England, on Sunday.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kazuki Nakajima, Toyota #7 driver and winner in qualifying:

"I mean, I already had, I don't know, about six or seven laps on the tyres, and thanks to Alex he somehow managed the grip until the end of the qualifying. So I had a really good lap in the end, lucky with the traffic, and I used the tyre a little bit too much for the qualifying maybe, but still, P1 is good for the team and good for us."
