  • Intro:

Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis praised his players for turning around the club's season. The Welshman declared his side safe from relegation after their 3-2 victory at Everton on Wednesday. The Eagles make the short trip east for the London derby against West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday (KO 15.00 BST).

SOUNDBITE (English) Tony Pulis, Crystal Palace manager:

"If you'd have said we'd have done this [practically avoided relegation] I wouldn't have believed you at the time -- the time of taking over. And then, you know, the way the club is now it's just 'chalk and cheese' (completely different). And, you know, it's been a credit to everybody concerned and connected to the football club, especially the players -- you know, the players have really taken on board what we've tried to do. And like I said before, you know, you can lead horses to water but you need them then to drink the water, and they've done that -- they've been absolutely fantastic."
