    India's Kidambi Srikanth is through to his first BWF Super Series semi final after beating Hong Kong's Hu Yun in the Singapore Open quarter finals on Friday.

    Srikanth edged the third game 20-19 with this smash to bring up match point.

    Srikanth winning 17-21 21-14 21-19 to advance to Saturday's semi finals where he will face world number one Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia.

    In the women's singles quarter final action. unseeded Han Li of China continued her impressive run through the tournament, beating Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon 21-14, 21-12.

    In another women's singles match, India's P.V. Sindhu gave defending champion Wang Yihan of China a scare but Wang had too much class for her opponent, finishing off Sindhu in straight games 21-19, 21-15 to advance to Saturday's semi finals.

    In mixed doubles, China's Liu Cheng and Bao Yixin ousted Singapore's Danny Bawa Chrisnanta and Vanessa Neo in two games 21-12, 22-20.

    In men's dobules, defending Singapore Open champions Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia faced South Korean fifth-seeds Kim Sa-rang and Yoo Yeon-seong.

    Kim and Yoo would go on to send the Indonesian champions tumbling out of the tournament 21-15 13-21 21-19 to advance to the Singapore Open semi finals.
