'Mo Farah winning wouldn't surprise me' - Jones

Friday, April 11 2014 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Some of the greats of British marathon running gathered on Thursday to reflect on the state of the sport and discuss this weekend's London Marathon.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Jones, British marathon record holder: (on Mo Farah's chances in his debut):

"It wouldn't be a surprise if he shattered the record and it wouldn't be a surprise to me if he won the race as well. He's going to go down as one of the greatest distance runners of all time. He's probably going to get British records from 1500 metres up to the marathon. Why he'd want to run this kind of race to see what it feels like? I think he's going there with a purpose and he's going to go out and try and win the race."
