Oscar Pistorius has told his murder trial that he was "besotted" with his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The double-amputee Olympic runner admitted that he may well have been keener on her than she was on him.

"Now, would you say that there was a point when it became more serious, the relationship? And if so, when was that?"

SOUNDBITE: (English) Oscar Pistorius:

"Well, I think we both had things that kept us back in our relationship and getting to know each other. We both came out of difficult relationships before. I was very keen on Reeva. I think if anything I was maybe more into her than she was at times with me. And I let her just take her space, I mean, it wasn't always easy - I was besotted with her and the time went and we kind of spoke and the relationship built up to a point, I'd say in mid-January, that we really knew we started caring about each other, we started talking about future plans."
