    Sri Lanka's cricket team were welcomed by their fans in Colombo on Tuesday (April 8th) after returning home as World Twenty20 champions.

    Script:

    The World Twenty20-winning Sri Lankan cricket team received a roaring welcome when they arrived in Colombo on Tuesday.

    The team then attended a news conference.

    Lasith Malinga explained that his team deserved the win and were not fortunate:

    SOUNDBITE: (Sinhala) Lasith Malinga, Sri Lanka twenty20 captain:

    "First of all I have to say, I never believe in luck. We got this only because of our team work and dedication. We didn't had any big plans for India."

    He also explained his pleasure at India reaching the final.

    After the news conference, the team were taken on an open bus parade, where they were greeted by thousands of fans.
