It was a day of come backs in the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup.

France pulled one rubber back on Saturday but still went into the final day of their tie with Germany two-one down.

That meant Jo-Wilfried Tsonga had to beat Tobias Kampke and boy did he, The Frenchman made 45 winners to Kamke's 19 and clinched an emphatic straight-sets win with this ace.

That took the tie to a deciding singles match between Gael Monfils and Peter Gojowczyk.

Like Tsonga, Monfils dominated his German opponent in straight sets to the delight of the Nancy crowd.

The situation was the same for Switzerland against Kazakhstan. First Stanislas Wawrinka came from a set down to beat Mikhail Kukushkin.

That set upa decisive rubber between Roger Federer and Andrey Golubev who beat Wawrinka on Friday. He pushed Federer to a tiebreak in the first set but was in the end no match for Swiss.

His straight sets win means Switzerland reach the Davis Cup semi-finals for the first time in 11 years.
